ABOUT
Plan & Make is an embroidery guide and a digitizing studio.
We care about the details that decide whether a design sews cleanly: the stabilizer, the stitch angle, the pull compensation, the order of the colours and the edge finish.
What you will find here
Plan & Make publishes practical guides for embroiderers, patch makers and small production shops. The goal is simple: explain what to do, why it works, and where it fails. We show settings and trade-offs instead of vague “just experiment” advice.
We also build StitchForge, a digitizing tool that turns clean artwork into machine files and shows a front-side stitch preview. The guides and the tool come from the same workflow: understand the material first, then make the file.
How we work
- We start with the production method: embroidery, hybrid print-plus-border, or print.
- We prefer clean, original artwork and honest limits over impossible detail.
- We separate “preview” from “file”: a pretty mockup does not replace a sew-out.
- We update guides when a test or a reader shows a better method.
