EDITORIAL
Editorial Policy
Plan & Make exists to make embroidery decisions clearer. This page explains how we choose topics, check claims and handle corrections.
Who writes the guides
Guides are written and edited by the Plan & Make team. We combine hands-on production experience with documented machine and material behaviour. We do not publish fake author bios or invented test results.
How we research
- We start with the physical constraints: hoop, fabric, stabilizer, needle, thread and stitch type.
- We test settings in StitchForge and, where possible, compare them with a physical sew-out.
- We prefer primary sources and manufacturer guidance for material claims.
- We distinguish between “works in a preview”, “opens in a machine” and “sews well on this fabric”.
Accuracy and corrections
If a guide is wrong or incomplete, tell us through the contact page. We will correct the article and note material changes where practical.
Independence
Commercial relationships do not buy a positive recommendation. Sponsored content is labelled. Advertising is separated from editorial content.
AI and images
Some example images may be rendered from digital stitch files or generated for illustration. They are not presented as photographs of a specific customer’s finished goods. We say when an image is a preview or mockup.
Comments and community
We may moderate comments for spam, abuse or misinformation. Keep criticism specific and useful.
